The healingSPACE Program Director is central to carrying out the work of Bergen County’s sexual violence resource center. This positon will work together with healingSPACE staff and volunteers, survivors of sexual violence, YWCA NNJ leadership, external program partners and funders/donors to accomplish the work of healingSPACE. The Project Coordinator is responsible for ensuring that healingSPACE is meeting the statutory and programmatic requirements for the program. This position is focused on supporting HealingSPACE at YWCA Northern New Jersey —Bergen County’s only Sexual Violence Resource Center. Healing SPACE is a safe and welcoming place for survivors of sexual violence, their families and friends. Our 24/7 crisis intervention hotline provides free and confidential assistance, and trained advocates provide counseling and medical and legal accompaniments to survivors. HealingSPACE also offers support groups, volunteer training, sexual violence prevention programming and educational programs for schools and businesses, as well as sponsors activities to raise community awareness about sexual violence. NEW! healingSPACE Volunteer & Education Coordinator
The Volunteer & Education Coordinator will support volunteer, education, prevention, and management efforts including: volunteer recruitment; volunteer retention, recognition and scheduling of hotline, accompaniment, and supervisor shifts; the planning, facilitation, and maintenance of initial and ongoing training; and the development and scheduling of community education, prevention, and outreach activities. Before and After School Recreational Counselors
Under the supervision of the Site Supervisor the Recreation Counselor assists group of 15-50 elementary school aged children ages Kindergarten thru sixth grade. The Recreation Counselors ensures the safety of the children as they take them through a schedule of activities that include snack, homework, gym time, arts & crafts, outdoor play, reading, board games, and special events.
