When coronavirus changed life as we know it, there was no time to plan…and no time to waste.
As a lifeline to the community, we had to act fast, creatively, and responsibly.
We adapted to uncertainty to be there for the people we serve when they need us most.
Nearly overnight, we interpreted legal and public health mandates to provide our sexual violence survivors with uninterrupted 24/7 hotline support and counseling services as well as steady line-up of creative, therapeutic, and practical workshops on a safe virtual platform.
We launched our live YWTV channel to deliver:
• Skills for women and women-owned businesses to navigate the current crisis and economic downturn
• Emotional support and resources for parents to help their children learn at home while staying sane
• Wellness activities and resources for all ages to combat the mental and physical toll of isolation
• Voter education and advocacy to keep pressing issues from climate change to family income in view
