When you walk into a room and people glance your way, what is your non-verbal statement? What do people say about you when you are not around? How do you allow those around you get to know the person you are? You must always have a brand and if you do, work on Refreshing Your Brand at all times. In the world of technology, you can use social media, especially LinkedIn to market your brand for networking purposes.
What is the importance of networking you might ask? Networking is the key to socialization. Socialization helps you to meet people. Meeting people helps you to obtain the job you need or want. According to Webster dictionary, the definition of networking is the exchange of information or services among individuals, groups, or institutions; specifically: the cultivation of productive relationships for employment or business. What better way to network and capture the attention of hundreds if not thousands than by promoting yourself and your skills online with a resource tool such as LinkedIn.
If used to its fullest extent, LinkedIn can help you be a part of a very large professional network. There are several simple steps you can take to help you stand out like the winner you are or destined to be:
- Create a Profile.
- Add Job Details to your Profile.
- Add Education to your Profile.
- Join Communities.
- Follow Companies of Interest.
- Make sure your Profile is Public.
